Ukraine – UAV disguised as an eagle

On 24 November 2023, special forces units of the Russian Guard and military counter-intelligence officers of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) detected a UAV disguised as an eagle operating in the Donetsk area.

The Ukrainian UAV, equipped with surveillance cameras was intercepted using EW. Disguising UAVs as birds has previously been used by Somali Intelligence (NISA) and is a common way of utilising UAVs for reconnaissance purposes.
