Uncrewed ground vehicle captures a Russian Orlan-10 UAV

On 6 February 2024, media footage was released showing an uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV) capturing a downed Russian Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAV before delivering it to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Although news reports claim the event occurred on the border between Russia and Ukraine, the exact site of the incident remains unknown. Incidences of cases using similar ground-based uncrewed systems have previously been recorded.

Debris from the UAV is said to contain evidence of involvement of the Kataib Hezbollah who, according to the National Counterrorism Center, are financed, trained and receive logistical support from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Kataib Hezbollah have since reported they intend to suspend attacks on US forces.
