Welcome to EWS Jacob Baker
The EWS team is delighted to give a very warm welcome to Jacob Baker who has just joined the company as a Data Analyst.
We asked Jacob to tell us about himself and he said: “Hi, I’m Jacob and I work for EWS as a Data Analyst within the Intelligence Team, a role I started at the beginning of September.
“I am a graduate from the University of Leeds Beckett, where I studied Criminology. My interest in Criminology started early on in life and persuaded me to challenge my knowledge and give university a go. My course included a diverse variety of modules, starting with Youth Crime and Policy and eventually branching out to researching the Criminology of Tattooing. Immersing myself in a broad spectrum of research material, develops my analytical skills by dissecting and condensing large quantities of information.
“Before University I worked as a Medical Administrator at a GP Surgery. This rewarding work allowed me to engage and grow transferable skills such as professionalism and people skills, which will greatly help me in my life at EWS.
“Working at EWS will allow me to further the skills which I have built up while studying for my degree, including delving into a variety of interesting research material and sources, while simultaneously selecting applicable information. Working as part of the Intelligence Team at EWS will develop these skills further.
“Outside of work I enjoy both playing and watching football, spending time with my family travelling around the county and engaging with the local community on a weekly basis.”
Welcome to the EWS family, Jacob!
