Moldova – Postal IED discovered at Chisinau International Airport
In a statement released on 7 January 2025, the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova announced that, earlier that day, they had detected an IED at Chisinau International Airport. The X-ray machine revealed a device concealed within a parcel, which resembled a toy car. The device was rendered safe by the Technical-Forensic and Judicial Expertise Center of the IGP (Inspectoratul General al Poliție).
Subsequent reports state the package had been sent from Ukraine and was intended to arrive in Tbilisi, Georgia.
