Welcome to EWS Georgia Easby

The EWS team is delighted to give a very warm welcome to Georgia Easby, who has joined the company as a Data Analyst. We asked Georgia to tell us about herself:
“Hi, I’m Georgia and I work for EWS as a Data Analyst in the Intelligence Team, a journey I started in June 2025.
For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for science, particularly biology and chemistry. This passion, as well as having insight into the Criminal Justice System (CJS) through family working in Prison and Probation, led me to study Forensic Science at university. During my time studying my undergraduate degree at Northumbria University, I found a particular enjoyment in Drugs and Toxicology. I found the analysis of drug molecular compounds and associated detection techniques most interesting.
Following my Bachelor’s degree, I went on to study a Master’s and once again, I enjoyed Advanced Forensic Toxicology, in addition to Fire and Explosions and Analytical Data Analysis. The Fire and Explosions module involved a lot of energy calculations and provided great insight into why various chemical structures impact on explosive power. Thankfully, I can transfer my skills and knowledge from all three of these modules into this role! In particular, I have been able to expand my understanding of geopolitical patterns relating to explosive material availability and popularity.
Outside of work, I love to bake (I have a particularly sweet tooth) and read both fiction and non-fiction – especially works about women’s issues and social justice!
I am excited to really channel my chemical and data analysis skills, as well as to open myself up to learn more about ongoing, historical conflicts and how political climates can inform the use of IEDs and UAVs.”
Welcome to EWS, Georgia!
