Canada – Stonewall RCMP seizes narcotics and UAV

On 8 February 2026 at approximately 01:05, Stonewall Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were informed that a UAV had remotely delivered contraband into Stony Mountain Institution (Winnipeg Metropolitan Region, Manitoba Province), with an estimated institutional value of $751,400. Stonewall RCMP later observed the perpetrator’s vehicle turning west on Route 72N from highway 7 in Rockwood Municipality.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, an Autel Robotics EVO II Dual UAV was recovered with a release mechanism attached and a package equipped. The package contained red, green, yellow and orange ballons filled with contraband, including methamphetamine, cocaine, tobacco and cannabis, with an estimated institutional value of $600,000. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and a man from Calgary has been charged with trafficking.
