Haiti – OWA UAVs targeting criminal organisations in Port-au-Prince
On 28 May 2025, the Haitian National Police (PNH) posted a video showing the use of one-way attack UAVs to target armed criminal organisations in Port-au-Prince. The attack targeted both a vehicle and personnel in a bid to combat the organised crime groups (OCGs) which have taken control of a large proportion of the capital. The footage has since been deleted.
The Haitian Government opted to use explosive-laden UAVs to fight such groups three months ago. Since then, over 250 members have been killed and 300 have been injured. Reports state Constellis, a private military company founded by Erik Prince, has signed a contract to help fight against gangs which control the capital. He is reportedly working to recruit military veterans for a possible deployment this summer.
