India – find of IEDs in Maharashtra State
On 7 May 2024, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), successfully defused nine IEDs, intended to be used by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
The find included six IEDs each consisting of a pressure cooker filled with explosives and a detonator. It also included three IEDs consisting of a claymore mine with additional shrapnel for fragmentation.
India will hold seven stages of general elections from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, in order to elect all 543 Lok Sabha members.
