Ireland – IED-laden UAV targeting rival gang in Finglas, Dublin

OverSite's 15,000th event reports on an IED-laden UAV discovered at a residence in Finglas, Dublin. On 4 May 2025 at 21:00, a DJI Mavic Pro crashed at a residence in Glenties Park. The UAV was reportedly intending to target an individual who allied himself with the Hutch Organized Crime Gang (HOCG). Footage posted to social media sites shows a mechanical timer with a nail attached using glue. The device was later rendered safe in a controlled detonation by the Irish Defence Forces EOD who arrived at the scene at 02:00.

The HOCG has previously been involved in the distribution of narcotics and shootings, one of which occurred on 3 May 2025.
