Oman – Two smuggling operations thwarted by Al-Dara Port Customs

Oman Customs Officials have thwarted two operations attempting to smuggle 50 UAVs and a quantity of restricted goods into the Sultanate of Oman through the Al-Dara Port. Also referred to as ‘Ras Al Darah’, the port is the main border crossing between Ras Al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Musandam in Oman.

A statement issued by Oman Customs stated that UAVs were found concealed amidst the cargo to evade taxes and import permits required by law. Video footage released by Oman Customs on 14 October 2024 shows the seized items including DJI Matrice 30 Series UAVs and DJI RC Plus controllers in hard shell cases.
