Pakistan – RCIED defused on bridge in Gilgit

The Gilgit Control Special Branch were notified at 11:15 am of a suspicious bag which had been found on the twin bridges in Gilgit, Pakistan on 18 January 2024.

Inside the bag was a viable device, which was found to be an RCIED weighing 3.5 kilograms and consisting of cylinders with lengths of protruding wire and high commercial grade explosives. The RCIED was rendered safe by Bomb Disposal Unit personnel and the components were taken away for further investigation.
