Palestine – VOIED planted near a shelter in Gaza City
On 12 July 2025, the Palestinian National Security Forces’ Al-Haris (The Guardian) platform defused a VOIED near a family housing shelter in Gaza. The device was contained within a weathered black plastic container and filled with unspecified explosives and surveillance equipment. A motion sensor was installed in the device - after acquiring surveillance information, the device was intended to function.
Previously, Hamas security forces have claimed to have seized monitoring devices planted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). According to reports, the devices are typically equipped with high-quality cameras and motion sensors, utilised for assassination attempts as well as gathering precise surveillance and intelligence analysis.
