Welcome to EWS Edward Derlien

The EWS team is delighted to give a very warm welcome to Edward Derlien who has just joined the company as a Market Researcher.

We asked Edward to tell us about himself and he said: “Hi, I’m Edward and joined EWS as a Market Researcher in September.

“Graduating in Law from the University of Sheffield, with a year abroad studying at the University of Warsaw in Poland, my early professional background was with a leading European defence contractor. Completing several placements across the business, I gained valuable experience in market analysis, supply chain and industrial offset agreements. I am excited to apply my skillset and knowledge of the defence industry to support EWS on its growth trajectory.

“I am really enjoying life with EWS, my role allows me to get involved in different areas of the business and I have already learned a great deal from the combined knowledge base of my new colleagues. Specifically, I look forward to using my formal skills in data analysis to ensure that my stakeholders always have access to the highest quality information concerning our target markets. I also possess a strong command of the Russian language to B2 level, which allows me to interpret additional sources that might otherwise not be accessible to us.

“Outside of work, I am a huge rugby fan and follow the latest fixtures at club and international level. I am also an avid reader of history, especially 20 Century military history. Furthermore, I am a keen traveller, having visited regions across multiple continents – most recently Central Asia, South Caucasus, and the Balkans.”
