Colombia – BME stored in GAOR warehouses destroyed by Colombian Armed Forces in Arauca Department

In a statement released on 11 September 2025, the General Command of the Colombian Armed Forces reported that members of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 8 had seized a large quantity of BME. Reports state that over 500kg of explosives were recovered from a warehouse used by substructure 28 of the Armed Organised Residual Group (GAOR). Sources claim that the BME was intended to be used for the manufacture of up to 1000 IEDs to be remotely delivered by UAV. Approximately 400 anti-personnel mines, 5 launching tubes, narcotics as well as both military and medical supplies were also recovered.

Following events that occurred in La Plata, Huila Department, the Vice Minister for Social Dialogue and Human Rights, Gabriel Rondon Olave has reported all organised armed groups to the Prosecutor's Office for alleged violations of international humanitarian law (IHL).
