Yemen – IEDs planted on a road in Wadi Omran, Abyan Governorate

Following an operation led by the Yemeni Southern Armed Forces’ 2^nd Support and Logistics Brigade, two IEDs were found near a road in Wadi Omran, east of Mudiyah District, Abyan Governorate. On 16 September 2025, several news outlets circulated images of the devices, each consisting of a box with a length of cord wrapped in green and yellow tape. Notably, at least one of the IEDs has a segment comprised of a large quantity of nails placed together for fragmentation. The Southern Armed Forces subsequently conducted a search of the area and the surrounding mountainous region before rendering the devices safe.
